![]() ![]() Otherwise, seems well-built and durable and whatnot.other than the fact that you're sharpening with exactly the same spot on your stone over and over again. Please note the following regarding the use of the videos & graphics: It'll be much easier, and you'll get better results. If you want to use it as a guide because you don't trust yourself to free-hand sharpen with a diamond stone or such, then maybe, but I think you'd be better off with simply a blue diamond stone, and free-hand it carefully. In either case, you'll have much better, dedicated tools for this. I don't like this tool - what's the point? I don't think you should be re-setting the angle on your edges unless you're a shop, of you really know your stuff. This is not a problem if you are paying attention and clean the tool as needed. You do have to be somewhat carful when using the mill file as burrs tend to get caught along the sliding surface of the tool and can put minor scratches on the base of the skis. The tool is a little tough to handle on the front and back curves of the ski, though not a big deal. Easy to set the stone in different positions for more even wear. Setting the angle is easy, changing the stone from side edge to bottom edge is easy. Be careful to properly anchor your ski and clean the debris from the tool after every other pass. I live in South Carolina now and it does a good job. 4 Lost my first MULTI, so I bought a second. ![]() This is a good pretreatment for more refined work - I am using the skivisions tool next. Use gently to avoid scraping the diamonds off the backing. 5 Use with a diamond stone for rock hardened edges. It can't replace machine tune-ups though, but it can definitely help to get the best of your edges and prolong maintenance intervals. It is also more compact and sturdy and easy to carry with the rest of your equipment. This tool offers greater precision and versatility compared to similar on-the-go sharpeners such as Toko (you can exchange diamond stones with files etc). 5 Good little tool for edge maintenance. This tool worked really well- the diamond stones fit well (sold separately). Need to order another tool, perhaps one with no internal parts. Today, sadly to say, I dropped on concrete and the internal spring shot somewhere.did not find. I've used this tool to maintain the specified (from the brand and make of the skis/snowboard) base & edge angles for years. Many thx to Scott for his help, and offering to send me a new spring if I couldn't locate the missing one. Armed with that info, I finally found the missing spring and put the tool back together, good as new. After searching for one hr for what I assumed was a missing washer, I called Scott, who advised that the part missing was actually a spring that sits under the plastic fastener that holds the tool together. Customer Svce Excellent!!!!Īccidentally dropped this tool on the floor and it came apart in pieces. Also dropped one of the tools and lost the button and spring and the company is sending replacement parts I believe free of charge. I bought a second unit as most of the skis I am tuning for myself and family require 1 degree base edge and 2 degree side edge so having two tools saves time in changing the settings.
